We're your neighbors. And we love making things.

Layer One 3D Printing is Hilliard's home for everything 3D printing — a place to shop, learn, create, and connect. Whether you're picking up filament for your weekend project, dropping off a file to be printed, or signing your kid up for their first maker class, you'll always find someone here who genuinely loves this stuff as much as you do.

We live here. We grew up here. Our families are here. We hope you’ll join us.

How We Got Here

Logo of the City of Hilliard, Ohio, established in 1853.

We didn't set out to open a store. We set out to make things.

For years, we've been deep in the world of 3D printing — tinkering with hardware, dialing in print settings, designing parts from scratch, and sharing the journey online with a community of makers who get it. What kept coming up, over and over, was a simple problem: there was no good local resource for people in Hilliard who wanted to get into 3D printing, level up their skills, or just get something made.

The closest options were big box stores that carry a couple of printers but no real knowledge, and online retailers that can ship you filament but can't answer your questions. For a technology this hands-on, that gap matters.

So we decided to fill it.

Layer One 3D Printing opened in Hilliard, Ohio in 2026 with a straightforward mission: make 3D printing accessible, educational, and genuinely useful for everyone in our community — from the curious beginner to the seasoned maker, from the student working on a science fair project to the small business that needs a custom part by Thursday.

What We Do

  • A curated shop carrying filaments, printers, accessories, and tools from brands we actually trust and use ourselves. No filler, no fluff — just the good stuff, with honest advice to go with it.

  • Have a file but no printer? Bring it to us. We handle consumer prints, business orders, school projects, and everything in between — with rush turnaround available when you need it fast.

  • We're proud to work with local schools and organizations to bring 3D printing into classrooms and makerspaces. If you're an educator or community leader, we'd love to talk.

  • From two-hour beginner sessions to multi-day youth STEM camps, our classes are hands-on, approachable, and taught by people who have spent years in the field. No background required — just curiosity.

What We Believe
Arrangement of decorative items including potted green plant, red paper flower, small colorful Christmas trees, candles in patterned holders, rabbit-shaped ornaments, and a person wearing blue gloves holding a handheld device on a white table against a plain background.

We believe that making things is one of the most powerful forms of learning.

There's something that happens when a kid designs an object on a screen and holds the finished print in their hands for the first time — a spark that's hard to describe but impossible to miss.

That's why a meaningful part of what we do is focused on empowering youth, supporting schools, and helping Hilliard's next generation of creators, engineers, and problem-solvers get their hands on the tools they need.

We partner with local schools to supply materials, deliver curriculum-aligned workshops, and support STEM programs that might not otherwise have the resources to make this technology accessible. Because we think every student in Hilliard deserves the chance to make something they're proud of.
